Last week I visited the Dead Creek Wildlife Refuge.  Although I saw minimal animal and bird life I found three levels of visual interest in the trees, the grasses and the water.  All three images are landscapes worked as montages.

I did some traveling around Vermont this week.  From 22A looking towards NY State the two seasons of fall and winter were very obvious.  South of Hancock horses grazed in a pasture at the base of a colorful hill.  Some of the distinctive chairs were still out at the Breadloaf Conference Center.

Yesterday was a grey day, more reminiscent of November than the last day of September.  I did find a farm that is taking the “green” theme literally and some brave bundled up souls kayaking on Dead Creek.

This summer has presented some different opportunities.  With all the rain and a strained rotator cuff my kayaking has been limited.  I’ve taken to exploring some of the backroads of Vermont and appreciating the farms – some working, some not.

With all the rain it’s been a little difficult to find time to shoot.  I went out last evening between rain showers and caught some clouds over the Adirondacks and a little color on Lake Champlain.
