Much to my delight I discovered San Gabriel Park and the San Gabriel River, North San Gabriel River and South San Gabriel River. Besides the multitude of water fowl there are reflections and Spirits. This week I present 3 reflection images.

One of the early signs of Spring in Vermont is the accumulation of water in low areas. My back yard is a low area and I was thrilled to begin a new series of Frog Pond Reflections last evening. The river is still frozen so it will be a while before the kayak gets into the water. In the mean time it is always fun to discover how the light plays with smaller bodies of water.

This weeks photos show 2 water reflections from a quarry near Pawlet, VT and a zone plate window reflection from a building at the Shelburne Museum.

I’m beginning to get busy with all the details for the Reflections From Otter Creek show. This week I’m highlighting 3 of the Spirit stars from the show. Each image is an edition of 3 and is being printed on hand made Japanese paper.

We are finally getting a little color along the rivers. The Early Color images were taken from the kayak and the Reflection With Moon was taken from the bank, all hand held.

I was out in the kayak yesterday and noticed many of the Spirits were no longer visable. A certain set of conditions must be present in order to see them. With so little rain lately the river is getting quite low. The Spirits will hibernate when the water is low.
